This is the renovation of a flat on the top floor of a period house in the centre of Milan and its terrace on the upper floor, which was only accessible before the work through a passageway outside the house. We intervened mainly in the living area, creating an open kitchen area from which there is access to the adjacent but separate dining/library area. In the existing kitchen, a second courtesy bathroom and an equipped wardrobe area were created. The master bedroom has been redesigned, as has the bathroom and the adjoining TV room studio. The main intervention involved the installation of a made-to-measure iron staircase painted white which, through a domed skylight, connects the living/kitchen area to the planted terrace. The result is a modern flat, which through the introduction of a few elements has developed the full potential of an incomplete space.
